Prioritize and Measure Changes to Your Website
- Find Under-Performers
Sometimes being in first position isn't enough for a page to achieve a high click-through rate. The text and image that appear in the result can play a large role, as can the SERP presentation.
In the following bubble chart, the query "cranberry christmas cocktail" is under-performing its second position placement. The medium-size bubble shows substantial search volume. Perhaps the description or photography should be reworked on this page.
In a tabular view, you can see details around similar queries, click-through rates, expected click-through rates, and average monthly search volume to inform your decisions.
- Find Over-Performers
QuerySeek will also find pages that out-perform their search position. This can happen when the page's position is low or falling even though users are searching for your content. An update might be what convinces Google to rank your page more appropriately.
In the following bubble chart, "cooking for dietary restrictions" is in the 10th position, but its click through rate is higher than typical. Users are looking for this content and the page would likely get more clicks if the page had a higher position.
- Find Realignment Potential
QuerySeek also points out pages where it might make sense to start targeting a different query. Queries with low positioning, high click-through rate, and high search volume fall into this category.
In the following image, you can see that the page ranks first for "chocolate peanut butter powder smoothie" but there might be more clicks available by additionally targeting "how to make a chocolate peanut butter smoothie."
- Measure Effectiveness
QuerySeek automatically monitors changes to your website and generates Change Reports so you can see how changes affect each page's performance.
If a change didn't have the intended result, you may want to try again, or revert to the old content.
